Blackheads Home Remedies 26th November 2009, 01:07
Blackheads are black colored bumps or plugs on skin. It is a very common form of acne that affects every person. How do these blackheads actually develop? When a pore on the skin is partially closed, some oil like substance called sebum, bacteria and other dead skin cells get accumulated in it. These particles slowly degrade and draw off into the surface of the skin. The black color is not due to the presence of bacteria or dust particles, but is due to the presence of keratin in sebum and cannot be washed away. The color may also be caused due to a reaction between a pigment of the skin, known as Melanin, and Oxygen in the atmosphere. Your face is one area that is affected by blackheads. When the skin's natural oil hardens the pore of the skin blackheads are formed. Sebum is called skin's natural oil. People with oily skin and sensitive skin are prone to have blackheads.

Here are some simple tips to get rid of blackheads.

1) Steaming your face or body can help in removing blackheads. Boil some water and pour it in a bowl. Now bring your face above the steam that comes from the bowl. Steam helps in opening the pores on your skin. After steaming your face use a face scrub to exfoliate your skin. This will help in removing dead skin cells. You can buy a scrub from the stores or you can create own at home itself.

2) Keep your skin clean by washing it twice a day with a gentle skin cleanser. Try and use a product made from natural ingredients. Cleaning will remove the excessive oil on your skin.

3) Another excellent remedy to remove blackheads is a facial scrub made from almond powder. Mix almond power with rose water and create a paste. Gently apply this paste to your blackheads and pimples. You can rinse the paste after 30 minutes. This will give you excellent results.

4) Natural products are best to get rid of blackheads. A facial scrub made from oatmeal produces good results. Mix a cup of oatmeal to a tablespoon of baking soda and four tablespoons of Aloe Vera juice. Apply this facial scrub once or twice a month to keep black spots at bay.

Make sure you don't pop or squeeze your blackheads. If you do, you will irritate them and cause them to spread. Also, don't scratch your blackheads if they itch. Touching them might irritate your skin and will cause a severe breakout.

When you take your shower in the morning, soaked your facecloth in lukewarm to hot water that you will apply directly on the blackheads. That should open up the pores and help clear the blackheads very quickly. There are other remedies that you can try, but keeping the area clean should keep blackheads and other skin problems away. You can also try and keep your pillow clean by changing it regularly. Your hair tend to have oil that can be deposited on the pillow and when you are sleeping your face can be in contact with the pillow and that way, blackheads can develop. How to get rid of blackheads with home remedies is not hard to do. Remember cleanliness should be high on your priority list when dealing with blackheads.

Vaginitis is a name for swelling, itching, burning or infection in the that can be caused my several different germs. Vaginitis is common in adult women and uncommon in prepubertal girls. Vaginitis is one of the most common reasons for gynecologic consultation consisting of approximately 10 million office visits annually. The three most common infections are bacterial vaginosis, candida vaginitis and trichomonas vaginitis. Vaginitis can also result from reduced estrogen levels after menopause. Some infections are transmitted through contact, but others, such as yeast infections, probably are not. Most women will have at least one form of vaginitis in their lifetime. Vaginitis is defined as the spectrum of conditions that cause symptoms such as itching, burning, irritation, and abnormal discharge. It usually is not serious. Women tend to be more susceptible to yeast infections if their bodies are under stress from poor diet, lack of sleep or illness, or if they are pregnant, taking antibiotics or birth control pills or douching too often. It can sometimes be a sign of other health problems.

The symptoms of vaginitis vary with the cause, although most are characterized by a discharge, odor, irritation and/or itching. Yeast infections involve genital itching and a thick, white vaginal discharge, while bacterial vaginosis involves a thin, grey vaginal discharge and a fishy odor. A Trichomonas vaginalis infection, on the other hand, leads to genital itching, a vaginal odor and a heavy vaginal discharge, which may be yellow-grey or green in color. Teeth whitening is sometimes called teeth bleaching. It refers to the process of removing the stains off your teeth to reveal their whiteness or to bring back their shine or luster. Normally, the tooth whitening procedure entails the use of whiteners or chemicals that are for oxidation, such as carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide. These two known teeth whiteners can get into the deeper layers of your teeth, carefully eliminating the hard-to-remove stains on your teeth. Depending on the severity of the discoloration, the teeth whitening or teeth bleaching process can last for months. As many home teeth whitening remedies there are that work, there are just as many that do not. It's important to mention the natural remedies you should avoid to keep from harming your teeth and gums in search of a brighter smile. Of some of the most popular natural whitening methods are the use of acids, like lemon juice/zest and strawberries. While, these may taste better than salt, baking soda and peroxide, they are harmful to your tooth enamel and gums. The citric acid will eat away your enamel, leaving your teeth unprotected and exposed.

Baking soda is the most common and the most inexpensive of all home teeth whiteners. Just take a drop of baking soda, add water to make it pasty, then brush it all over your teeth using your toothbrush or your finger. Let is stay for a couple of minutes after brushing, then gargle thoroughly to rinse out. If you accidentally swallow this home-made teeth whitening paste, it is okay as it is just baking soda. The only downside of this teeth whitener is that not a lot of people can tolerate the taste of pure baking soda. Use apple cider vinegar as mouthwash as teeth whitener. Just swish it around your mouth for a couple of minutes, or you can mix it with a teaspoon of baking soda and a dash of salt to make a teeth whitening paste you can apply on your teeth. This is an effective teeth whitener that combines three teeth whitening agents (vinegar, baking soda and salt) all together to create one potent mix.

Chicken pox is often mistaken for it to be measles because of the way it appears. It is a viral disease. This disease could be easily identified as it starts with a fever. After cure, this virus could remain hidden in the victim’s body and cause again later such as shingles. Chickenpox is an infectious disease caused by the varicella virus. Most cases occur in children under age 15 but older children and adults can get it. It spreads very easily from one child to another. The chickenpox virus can spread easily from one person to another. It most often spreads through the respiratory tract, such as mucous membranes of the mouth and nose. You also can get chickenpox through the air, from an infected person's sneezing or coughing. Chickenpox is very common in children, and it tends to only cause mild illness (for more information see Related topics). Once you have had chickenpox, you usually become immune to it for life, although on rare occasions people can catch it again.

Symptoms

Symptoms of chickenpox begin between 10 and 21 days after a person is exposed. The illness typically includes fever and a generally sick feeling. This is soon followed by itchy, red bumps that quickly become fluid-filled and are easily recognized as chickenpox. These skin blisters are round, about 5 millimeters to 10 millimeters across (about the size of a pencil eraser), with a red base. Sometimes, they are described as a "dew drop on a rose petal." They appear in various stages over the next few days and eventually crust over. These blisters may appear anywhere there is skin, even inside the mouth, throat or vagina. Some patients have only 50 blisters or fewer. Others have too many to count.

Following are a few treatments that could be followed:

* Giving regular baths after ever 3 to 4 hours, adding baking soda in the water that might calm the itching

* Trimming of fingernails among children could prevent them from itching and scratching * Never give children aspirin as a means of treatment.

* A person should continue drinking fluids to prevent dehydration if these blisters occur in the mouth area

* Avoid any acidic or spicy food

* Keeping children affected by chicken pox away from contact of any other child, as its dangerously contagious

Chickenpox (varicella) vaccination is not included in the childhood immunisation programme in New Zealand as the Ministry of Health does not recommend the routine use of this vaccine for normal, healthy children. However, the vaccine is available and licensed for use in New Zealand, but it is not subsidized, so the patient or parent must pay for it. The vaccine can be given to children over about one year of age and adults. Children aged less than 13 years require one dose, whereas anyone over 13 years requires a second booster shot about six weeks later.

Corns Cure 10th November 2009, 22:25
Corns can be described as painful build-ups of the skin, usually noticed either on the soles of the feet or over the joints of the toes. They are mainly the result of wearing shoes that fit too tight, which leads to excessive pressure on a particular area and results in a build-up. Though corns are not life-threatening, they can be pretty painful for a person. Corn pads are available in the market, which help in the getting rid of the corns. Corns are caused by wearing poorly-fitting boots or shoes. When a bony prominence of the foot experiences continued pressure or friction from an opposing surface the tissues can become thickened and more tough resulting in a corn developing. They vary is size, shape and severity and tend to be more common in women, especially those who constantly wear tight or narrow shoes.

What Causes A Corn?

The most common cause of a corn developing is due to ill-fitting footwear, especially tight or narrow fitting shoes that cause the toes to become cramped into a small space where pressure builds up and friction between the shoe and the tissues of the foot occurs. Sometimes a deformity of the foot may be to blame, especially those with hammer toes or bunions as these condition force prominences to develop and increase the risk of some areas of tissue to feel pressure and rub against the shoe, when it normally wouldn’t.

First natural ways to get rid of corns are using of raw Papaya juice on corn twice or thrice a day. Second natural ways to get rid of corns is using calcium carbonate easily available in chalk. Powder the chalk and make a paste of it using water. Apply this paste on corns just before going to bed. Third natural ways to get rid of corns is applying paster of Liquorices powdered and mixed with either Mustard or Gingili oil. Fourth natural ways to get rid of corns is use of Essential oils. Wearing shoes that fit properly will most definitely get rid of corns. I can’t believe people actually need to be told this, but I think we all know how deep denial can get when we’re trying to achieve that perfect image. Listen, I know you like high heels and nice shoes that don’t fit just right, but I’ll tell you that the most common cause of corns are ill-fitting shoes, especially the dressy ones with narrow toes.

Most people will benefit from using corn pads applied directly onto the affected area. These can be brought from many shops or chemists and aim to cushion the area prevent friction from occurring and reduce pressure. If you have any underlying medical illnesses such as diabetes or problems with circulation, always discuss your options with your GP or Practice Nurse as many corn plasters and pads are not recommend for use if these conditions are present. Use a pumice stone or other hard skin relieving device or lotion to try and soften the area and reduce the likelihood of it developing further. Treat any areas of hard skin appropriately before a corn can grow.
